Prepare for Your Survey
To make the most of your survey, we’ve prepared the following checklist.
Before your HSGS inspector visits your house, prepare a list of any existing problems and issues that you’d like to address.
Typical items might include: condensation on windows, baseboards or drywall, drafty windows and doors, or hot/cold rooms. Please try and include even the most trivial issues.
Have copies of your home's energy bills or access to your online records. At least a whole year’s record is important since seasons effect energy usage.
In addition, our inspector will be asking you some questions, such as:
Is anyone home during working hours?
What is the average thermostat setting for summer and winter?
How many people live here?
Is every room in use?
Often, a HSGS can recommend ways to save energy and money before even performing the survey.
